Enrichment/ Contest Math

Challenge your child beyond school math! This class enriches students beyond grade level math which will work as a foundation for math contests like Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiad, Math Counts, AMC8 etc. The students will be trained on topics and techniques required to solve the problems in math competitions. This class helps in increasing critical thinking to solve a variety of non routine problems.

Topics taught in this class:

• Number patterns and tips and tricks in addition and multiplication
• Tricks with prime factorization, finding LCM and GCF
• Counting principles and factorial math
• Patterns in powers of numbers, divisibility rules
• Solving cryptarithhms using arithmetic patterns
• Geometry concepts like angle chasing, similar triangles and special right triangles
• Data analysis with plots and graphs
• Problem solving strategies like working backwards, solving a simpler problem, make an organized list
